About

I am Charlez Kwan, an independent system architect and developer based in Germany. I work on systems that cross the line between software and hardware. A typical engagement can involve a browser app talking to NFC tags, a Rust backend running on a small on-site server, a Qt desktop tool for an operations team, and the small embedded device that feeds events into all of them.

What clients hire me for is the ability to hold all of that in one head. Most teams have to assemble a web person, a hardware person, and someone to glue them together. I do the architecture and the integration myself, which keeps the system coherent and shortens the path from idea to running production.

How I engage

I take engagements end to end, from the first architecture conversation through build, integration and operation, or join existing teams when an independent technical view is needed. Available across Germany and remotely.
